SuperTrip 2025
After our epic 2024 SuperTrip adventure, we were happy to come home, but also unable to resist the pull of another camino. This year, we are walking the Camino Portuguèse from Lisbon to Porto and then along the coast into Spain and north to Santiago de Compostela, once again.
We leave this year on February 12th and we will be flying from Calgary to London. The timing of SuperTrip 2025 is anchored by the wedding of our amazing friends Gareth and Fabian, which we will attend in London on February 15th.
We are also taking the opportunity to spend time with friends and family in the UK and will be in London for almost 2 weeks, giving us time for some day trips out of town. We are self-catering, based in Aldgate, which is Central-East London, a short walk from Tower Bridge. We also have 2 tickets for one of Karen's favourite comedians, Bill Bailey, who is touring with his new show "Thoughtifier". We haven't seen him live since the noughties.
On February 24th, we fly to Lisbon, a city neither of us have explored before. We have a week there, to get to know the city. The camino Portuguèse opens on March 1st and we start walking on March 2nd. Our walk to Santiago will take us 33 days and we arrive in Santiago on April 3rd.
Our last day walking is around 27km, so we will miss the Pilgrims' Mass on the 3rd. We will stay in Santiago until April 5th, which will allow us to go to the Cathedral for a service on April 4th.
We return to London on April 5th and will spend another, almost 2 weeks in town, enjoying the city, our friends and doing a few more day trips. We will stay in Bethnal Green, Hackney and Kensington during this visit. We have tickets for "Six" in the West End. Otherwise, our dance card is open...
